So, I've been a major blog slacker. So I have so much to catch up on. I almost decided not to do the blog thing anymore but I don't keep a journal so this is the best thing for me to keep track of what's been going on in the Johnson household.
I'll start with our kids.
Kendi: Just finished her last year of preschool and she just had her graduation. It was sooooo cool to see how excited she was, especially since I was not supposed to be there. I make my work schedule a month in advance and happened to be working the day of her graduation. I was able to leave work early that day and make it to the ceremony just in time. She was standing outside the door of the library when I walked up. She was SO excited and totally surprised. It made me cry. They sang some songs and by sang, I mean yelled. It was so funny. After the graduation, Mom, Dad, Steven, Clint, Nicole, Shaley, Caleb, Kendi, Davin and I went to Baskin Robins for ice cream. The kids were a huge, sticky mess but it was fun. The girls came over after and played tea party and put on make-up. It was a GREAT day and I'm very thankful that I was able to make it. During this year of school Kendi has lost like 6 or 7 teeth. She officially has the enormous gap where her top teeth used to be. I'm still not ready for the -teeth bigger than my childs whole head- stage. But... whatever. She is surprisingly cute without the teeth. While I'm talking about her, I just want to mention some of my favorite things about her.
Kendi is super friendly and polite to people. She is SO thoughtful of others. She recognizes peoples needs before their needs are really apparent to anyone else. She has such a caring heart. She sincerely feels bad for people when others are having a hard time. An example: My Aunt Denise just recently passed away. On the way to Utah for her funeral, Kendi kept talking about Uncle Pete and TJ (Denise's grandson). She kept saying, "Mom, I feel really sad for Aunt Denise's family. I know Aunt Denise is living with Heavenly Father and she's not sick anymore but TJ and Uncle Pete must really miss her." The amazing ability she has to feel empathy for others is a quality that many adults don't posess and is something that is just in her. I could not teach her that. Kendi always tells me that I'm the best mom in the world or she says that I am one of her favorite people. She tells me how beautiful I am when I am feeling my ugliest. She loves her cousins and brother. When you ask her who her best friends are, she says her "cousints" (I don't know why she can't say cousin). That makes me so happy because my cousins and my sister were my best friends growing up. And still are. When she is sick, feeling horrible, she will still look at me and say,"I'm so glad you are a nurse. Thank you for taking good care of me." Kendi is so proud of me. She thinks I am so cool because I am a nurse. She tells everyone that, "my mom is a nurse. She works in the burn center." If for no other reason, I am so glad I finished school because she is so proud of me and that is the best feeling in the world. I am proud of the little lady she is turning out to be. She is a good girl. I love her so much and she makes me happy to be a mom.

I know, I know you can't believe it........I'm FINALLY updating my blog. It would be so much easier if I would just do an update weekly but........that's probably never going to happen so......I'll just try to do it more than once a month.
I'm starting with Christmas and then I'll go from there. First of all, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! We did. Times have been tough for everyone which totally sucks but, it ended up being a good thing for Christmas. We get so caught up in what we are going to give people that I think it's easy to forget about what Christmas really is. This year, noone had money to worry about gifts so we were forced to remember that we were celebrating the birth of Christ. It was a time that we were really able to teach Kendi that some people don't have money to buy their kids Christmas presents so we were able to give some money to a family in her class and she was told that she would get only a couple presents. She was so happy to help other kids. I am always so impressed by Kendi's ability to really think about others and want to help them.
Christmas Eve is the day we get together with my family at my parents house. This has always been our tradition. We hang out and then have clam chowder for dinner. Since we've added more in-laws to the family, we have also added chili to the tradition since clam chowder is not a favorite among everyone. Here are some pictures of that night.

I always enjoy hanging out with my family. I am blessed to have siblings that are not only my siblings but are some of my best friends and some of the coolest people I know. And, they all make really cute babies.
CHRISTMAS day is a lounge day. Since we all hang out on Christmas Eve, everyone hangs with with the in-laws on Christmas day. We basically chill in our PJ's all day, which I know is no different than any other day at my house. After opening presents in the morning, we went and made biscuits and gravy at mom's house. We watched The Tales of Desperoux in the afternoon and then Ed and I always go to my brother-in-law Cody's, Aunts house and play games. I love Christmas. Very unstressful. Here are some pictures of Christmas morning.

And now, my favorites:(even though they are in the opposite order as I would like them but for some reason, when I try to edit the post, I don't see any pictures, only words and symbols so I can't move the pictures around. But I think the pictures speak for themselves.....
